I trained as an Acupuncturist at the University of Westminster, where I obtained a BSC (Hons) degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture. I then went to China to carry out further studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and worked in Chengdu Hospital.
I use acupuncture to treat a wide variety of different problems, and have a special interest in fertility and pregnancy, and can offer support alongside assisted fertility cycles such as IUI, IVF, ICSI and egg donation. By working for Zita West, at 'The Zita West Clinic' a leading fertility expert in Central London, I have gathered considerable knowledge and experience in this area.
I am a qualified and registered Nurse (BA Hons) with many years nursing experience. I also have a Diploma in Tropical Nursing and have worked as a nurse in India.
My knowledge and experience of working with both Western and Chinese medicine gives me unique insight and skills in identifying and treating many problems I see today, and I believe Chinese and Western Medicine can work together, sharing ideas and approaches. Acupuncture is a natural approach, free from side effects and can sometimes be used to replace the need for depending on Western medicine for certain conditions.
I am a founder member of the 'Natural Birth and Parenting Network' based in Bath www.natural-network.co.uk . This offers a variety of services and professional care, covering everything from antenatal and fertility issues, to birth, post natal concerns and parenting. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), and observe a Code of Safe Practice, which lays down stringent standards of hygiene and requires the use of sterile disposable needles. Only a member of the BAcC can issue you with a certificate enabling you to continue donating blood.
